My daughter has been a student here for the past few years. She has thrived and become a more confident child under the direction of the Athens Theater Youth Academy. We are so grateful to them for instilling a love of theater and the arts in her that she will assuredly carry throughout her life. We are leaving DeLand, and this theater is one of the main things we will miss about this area!
All of the teachers are absolutely wonderful, supportive and kind. It’s such a fun and nurturing environment for kids to learn the art of musical theater, acting, dance and signing during the school year. The summer kids performances are top notch, and very fun!
We’ve also attended other performances by adults and were blown away! This beautiful historic theatre adds so much culture, beauty and artistry to Downtown DeLand. If you have a child interested in theater, this is the place to be! If you’re an adult looking for quality live theater performances, definitely give Athens a try!
