In partnership with the Early Learning Coalition and the Florida Division of Early Learning, Volusia County Schools provides the Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK). The VPK program is a free educational program that prepares 4-year-olds for kindergarten and beyond. Designated schools offer three FREE VPK hours funded by the Early Learning Coalition and the choice of a TUITION-BASED full-day program.
If attending a Title I school, families may be eligible for tuition assistance. Contact the VPK school site registrar for more information.
Students must be four by September 1st of the current school year. Families must obtain a valid Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties for registration.
The parent must provide transportation.
Families may apply for the Certificate of Eligibility online at Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia.

- Current shot record (Florida Form 680)
- current physical record (Florida Physical Form 3040)
- 2 documents as proof of residency in Volusia County school zone indicate parents'/guardians' names: (driver's license, lease or rental agreement copy, property deed, or utility bill.)
VPK/Title I classroom units depend on sufficient student enrollment and the availability of federal funds for the new school year. VCS reserves the right to close classroom units if enrollment and funding do not meet the required needs for each classroom.
