Welcome, September. It's one of our favorite months: Kids are back in school, fall arrives, the evenings are getting longer, and the days are getting cooler. Corn mazes and apple orchards are ready for families to visit, and — in much of the country — leaves are changing to gold and red. And did we mention — it's time for pumpkin spice everything?
Want to make September extra special? Here are 10 holidays and events your family can recognize during the month:

Grandparents Day
Grandparents are special. If your children's grandparents are local, spend time showing them just how important they truly are to your family.
If they aren't local, plan ahead and send a handmade card and a hug: Simply tape together a few pieces of newspaper or use the white side of wrapping paper and outline your child with their arms outstretched. Let your kids color themselves in. Fold it up, put it in an envelope and send that hug to grandma! See more ideas on how to make Grandparents Day grand. Sept. 11
