The City of Deltona will distribute free turkeys to residents two days before Thanksgiving, on Nov. 26. The giveaway will last for three hours, from 3 until 6 p.m., or until supplies last, and takes place at Deltona City Hall, at 2345 Providence Blvd. There will be approximately 800 turkeys given away. The limit is one bird per family. In order to be eligible for a free turkey, recipients must by 18 years or older, and must be a resident of the City of Deltona. Proof of residency must be a valid, non-expired state-issued identification. Utility invoices will not be accepted as proof of residency. Eligible families will receive a numbered certificate to exchange for a turkey on site at City Hall.
