This Saturday, April 14, 2018, Orange City is giving away 100 trees in celebration of its 16th year as an active member of the Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA program. Each Orange City household is eligible to receive one free tree on a first-come, first-served basis.There are three types of trees to choose from, including Cypress, Winged Elm*, and Sycamore. Proof of Orange City residency isrequired (e.g. driver’s license or utility bill).
The giveaway will take place during Colin’s Birthday Bash, a free community event that will raise awareness of the new and upcoming skate park, provide information on pedestrian safety and will feature live music, vendors, games, raffles, etc. Additionally, City staff will be available to offer expertise in selection and placement of trees as well as planting information.
