City of Deltona-Annual Arbor Day Celebration Tree & Shrub Giveaway

April 10, 2018

The City of Deltona celebrates Arbor Day with an annual event designed to encourage residents to go green by planting shrubs and trees and educating them on the importance trees play in both our local and global environments. This year’s celebration will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 27, in the Courtyard at City Hall, 2345 Providence Blvd. The City plans to offer 300 free shrubs and trees purchased from a local nursery. This year’s selection will include azaleas, wax myrtles and crepe myrtles. The Celebration at City Hall will also feature exhibits and displays. Free popcorn and lemonade will be available for everyone.

The City of Deltona became a designated Tree City USA in 2007 and chose 2007 as the first year to host an Arbor Day celebration in honor of the designation. The Mayor and City Commission will present a proclamation at the celebration.
